npm install -g Fails

First confirm that Node.js and npm are available:

node -v
npm -v

On macOS / Linux, if you see EACCES, move the npm global directory to your user directory.

command not found

The global npm bin directory is not in PATH.

Check the npm global prefix:

npm config get prefix

Add the corresponding bin directory to PATH and reopen the terminal.

Windows Scripts Cannot Run

Open PowerShell as administrator:

Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -Scope CurrentUser
